It is not even Thanksgiving and we are already considering the Christmas Season. Maybe next year Thanksgiving will not even be a holiday, but just a day of pigging out. Well, without further ado, perhaps the most astounding and most anticipated and fought over gift will certainly be the Sony Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii (which I think is a horrible name). But if you check these links below to eBay, you will see the remarkable prices customers are paying for these items. It sold as high as 2500 (so far) for Playstation! But come this weekend (November 17th is the release date), you will see how people will respond. If you look on eBay, you will see prices are still at 1600 and beyond for the PS3, while the Nintendo Wii is not quite fetching 1,000. This may be the retail price difference. Check out eBay here. But while you are shopping for hard to find gaming systems, I thought it be good to mention some hot items for Christmas. If you are a member of the forum, then you already know Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas isa hot item. Because of the recent theatrical release of the 3-D version, Disney pulled all versions from the shelf. This include the Special Edition, the Nightmares and Peaches 2-Pack, the PSP version, the Coffin edition, Original Widescreen and if any HD versions were released (doubtfully). A popular Christmas movie is making buyers spend a few extra bucks to get it as a gift. If you are shopping for a gift, please be careful when on eBay as there are a number of bootleg sellers, such as this seller from China. The safest bet is to buy from someone in the US or that it is stated a Region 1 and posts a photo of the item for sale, not a stock photo. Another title for the Kwanza season which has become newsworthy is Boomerang. This is not your favorite Eddie Murphy comedy, but the lesser known classic from Elia Kazan starring Dana Andrews. There is no listing for this title on Amazon since being recalled, yet, that alone does not explain Amazon's removal of the listing. Needless to say, its popularity has remained on the low side. Another hot item this coming Solstice Season is the Cars DVD's. As someone pointed out in the forum, there are about 7 variations on this DVD from all sorts of retailers wanting to sell their exclusive versions. There is the Best Buy edition, Walmart with bonus disc, Target Deluxe Edition, Target regular edition with Pin, Blockbuster Tin, Futureshop steelbook edition, and whatever other editions might be lurking out there. There has been dispute in the past concerning the various V for Vendetta's that emerged how it will effect the collectibility of such a DVD. Of course there are going to be standards this Hanukkah year with such notaries as Seinfeld Season 7, Superman Returns and Da Vinci Code. There will be more Christmas suggestions as Thanksgiving officially passes and Christmas is closer. I would suggest Thanksgiving movies besides Home for the Holidays, but I dont think there are any.
