The one out of print single DVD that sold for the highest in the past three weeks on eBay is John Woo's The Killer from The Criterion Collection which sold for a nice sum of 305.00 bucks. It is a brand new factory sealed copy, thus giving it a boost. According to recent sales, it seems that Salo has slowed down its pace. A mint copy of Salo with the Buy-It-Now feature was posted at 525.00 dollars and there was no buyers. The seller boasts "new" in his auction, but qualifies that it has been opened and viewed once (why do they do that? its not new). Another copy of Salo reached 301.00 dollars at the end of the auction, but could not manage to make the reserve price, whatever that might have been. There are currently about 3 copies of Salo all in the range of 125-200 each.

Another DVD that is really hot in the OOP market is the Complete Series of My So Called Life. A number of boxed sets are appearing on eBay and reaching up to 275.00. A number of them are listed all selling at 179 or better. These have been out of print for a little while, but it seems that people really want these right now. Among others is the Criterion Collection DVD of Jacque Tati's Playtime, which sold at 179.00. This DVD has been drying up considerably raising prices. I know through another source that a copy sold for 150.00. Amazon offers only one copy at 112.00 and 249.00. Other DVD's that are hot is the Muppet Show series which are all out of print. For 15 DVD's. they are selling between 125 and 225.

It is also noted that Criterion's Rebecca has been moving up in price in the range of 45-60 dollars. A copy sold recently for 65.00 on eBay. Amazon also shows a rise in price range (beware of imports), but does not seem to have effected the price of the Hitchcock boxed set.
Curiously, the DVD with the most bids was Chicago Blues Jam which ended with 60 bids!! I dont know anything about this DVD nor where it came from. Any information would help. Well thats all for now with this Hot Update.
