New OOP Titles to Grab

Since its been a while since I posted an article, I have organized this by studio releases. I wont make this list super big, so I will keep it manageable both for me and the the reader. Notes to follow the sections. Information provided by MMM. Status and availability on any item is subject to change without notice.

Buena Vista/Disney

My Neighbor Totoro might prove to be a quick seller right now with the recent theatrical release of Ponyo. Beauty and Beast - Belle's Magical World has been released a number of times now, and with Beauty and the Beast set for release later this year, we may see another re-release with it. Starring Mickey is a number of short animated films that have already been released on the Mickey in Living Color tin.

Columbia Tri/Star

Heavy Metal is still available, however, this one features the Digital Copy. Although many people frown upon it, there is a demographic that does like the digital copies for travel purposes. Betty Blue is something to keep an eye on. Its possible a re-release is on the horizon, although nothing has come up. It was recently put back into the theater where, for the first time, US audiences were treated to the unrated version. Sony has recently placed a number of titles back into circulation that were previously discontinued, so we might see this one again as well.

Cinema Epoch

Cinema Epoch is a small independent company that releases many strange films, most have an erotic angle. Italian Stallion is the title of Sylvester Stallone's first film, which is actually a porno film. I am not sure if this is a public domain film or not, but I think there are other copies floating around. I would imagine Cinema Epoch's version to be the best of the bunch. I dont know much about The Mummy's Kiss, but reviews are calling it an erotic horror movie.

Fox

Laura is part of the Fox Noir series and appears to have been discontinued, however, it is still relatively available if you do a search. It stars Gene Tierney and Dana Andrews (of Boomerang! notariety).

Fox Lorber

That's My Face and The Business of Fancydancing are both documentaries from Fox Lorber, the latter being about the Native Americans which has received many positive reviews.

Image Entertainment

Both Season 1 and 2 of Father Murphy are discontinued. Season 1 seems to have been watched more than the second.

This is all for now. I will post another update later in the week.
